I've Got a Crush on You
Oh dear.
I went guitar shopping with my friend Laura yesterday, to help her pick out a new guitar.
I was along for MORAL SUPPORT only.
But then, in one of the 2 guitar shops we went to, I spied this sweet old well-loved much-played Yamaha guitar, for a reeeeeeally good price.
“Thumpety thump” went my heart.
“Don’t even think about it”, went my wallet.
But it is so sweet, the Yamaha! The classic stash-under-the-bed for thirty years guitar. The classic hippie guitar, protest song guitar, campfire guitar.
Never was high end, but doesn’t need to be. She’s sturdy, solid, and has clearly played lots of music in her many years on earth.
If guitars could talk…
Responsibly, I walked away from her. But the next day, I am pining. I don’t need another guitar.
But this Yamaha was kind of like coming across a really special sweet old Golden Retriever at the Humane Society. You kind of feel like you should just bring her home because you get how special she is. Even if you go on to pass her along to her next loving owner, at least you have been a link in the chain.
I don’t have the money.
It was really cheap.
I still don’t have the money.
I’m pining! I have such a crush on that sweet old guitar! Help!
Lisa,
Just buy the guitar. You know you want to. Life is too short.
I like that philosophy!
