My Little Peace

Garden at Twilight

Garden at Twilight

It’s summer, and there’s nothing quite so sweet as taking the guitar outside to play.

I was being interviewed in my garden to promote an upcoming concert a couple of years ago, when the photographer suddenly whipped out a video camera and said, “hey, why don’t you play a song?” Eek!

Watch the video HERE.

This song is called “My Little Peace”. It was recorded on my latest album, Talisman Groove.

You can find the CD, and a sample of the song HERE.

And here are the lyrics:

MY LITTLE PEACE
(words & music
by Lisa McCormick)

Some may find salvation
In temples to their king
Some may find redemption
In some silly little thing
Perhaps it makes no difference
If you find it where you should
Cause if it turns your world around
It’s got to be something good

I’m panning for gold
In the bed of a stream
Sifting through sand and stones
There are mountains to move
Still I believe
I may have just unearthed
a tiny gem to hold

It might not be smooth
It might not be clean
Might not look like much to you
But if I think its gold
Then gold it will be
Amazing what a pinch
of this stuff can do

And all I had to do
Was crawl on my hands and knees
Dig in up to my elbows
To find this little peace
And everything is different now
Everything is fine
Everything reflects the glint and the shine
Of my little peace

As I’m holding my find
Up next to my eye
Perspective begins to shift
I see the same big old world
In a whole different light
And my spirits begin to lift

My mystical gem
It’s got a talisman groove
I swear it’s looking out for me
Like a sheltering hand
That helps me to move
In between the raindrops
to wherever I need to be
